Does the gapps file change from 4.1 to 4.2?

Um, I'm not sure. Which gapps file did you use? On the CM10.1 thread there is a link, I used the most downloaded file, I forget which it was but the OP said to use any in that thread really. I just flashed 07/28 and its stable.

That is the gapps i used, hmm would it make a difference if i flashed back into my nandroid backup and then flashed cm10.

I'm not entirely sure. I don't understand why it wouldn't work. I'm stumped! I'm gonna update to 07/30 now.

Do u have to update to the 7-30 or can I flash that right from newts rom with wipe and reset? Maybe I will try that instead of 7-28. Do u use rom manager to update?

No, you can flash directly into that build. It's the newest one listed on the downloads page. I'm using it now. And no, I use CMupdater to update. (Its in about phone under settings.)

Yes. Look for 4.2 gapps from goomanager, or just google search it.

How long does it usually take to install, it installed in less then a minute when i did it. Seemed a little quick to me. Maybe it just didn't install properly.

The updates are relatively quick in comparison to a new ROM. But I don't remember how long it took, sorry. I didn't notice any difference between CM and any other ROMs.
