Hey guys I put together a quick video of some of the changes between 4.1 and 4.3 on our One. There are some nice changes, like the quick settings, and additional songs for Highlights.

I have to point out that I was running a 4.2 based ROM before this, and this one runs much better than that one. They were from the same dev, though, so I'm going to attribute this to 4.3. OpenGL ES 3.0 does make a slight difference. Transitions and animations do appear to be a bit faster (or it's just placebo, but I think they're faster).

Even better is that I haven't come across any deal breaking bugs, or bugs at all. I've tested BT, wifi, NFC, etc. Everything works as well as we would expect. If this is indeed the same as what's going to go out OTA when it finally drops I think everyone will be very happy.

If you guys have any questions feel free to ask. I'll be around most of the day, and anything I miss I'll get back to tonight. For those that are curious, I'm running THIS rom.

Its not placebo, its definitely better. I felt a difference in Transitions and animations on my Nexus 4 4.3

Yeah so did I, but HTC has had a little something special since 4.1. Not opengl obviously, but they've coded sense 5 extremely well.

looks great! have any idea when it will be released to the public?

Nope. This is just a rom based off of a leak.

What version of Sense is it running? Still Sense 5? I know we were getting rumors of a Sense 5.5. Anything totally different or improved?

Will this update apply to older HTC One phones like the One X (that I own)? I've heard 4.3 includes a newer version of Bluetooth that fixes issues with car stereos. True?
So still no word from AT&T on when they plan on releasing this update? I thought it was suppose to come out this month. That's what I heard months ago.

Same one (I linked to it)

Nope. The HOX+ and HOX international version got 4.2.2 with Sense 5.

Any improvements on the camera?
What about speaker volume?

Thanks a lot for sharing!

Those appear to be the same. I never had camera issues FWIW.

So my HTC One X + on AT&T will remain on 4.1.1 forever? I try to update OTA and it doesn't give me anything.

I heard rumors I am included above, am I wrong? I'm confused as hell right now.

Well, your update is going to be dependent on the carrier, just like the One getting the official 4.3 OTA is. The international HOX+ got 4.2.2 plus Sense 5 (I know, I have one here).

Whats more important is does the update fix the purple tint so many users are getting when taking lowlight photos?

Camera problem: red/blue/purple noise in low light photos - xda-developers

I never had those issues, so I can't speak to that. I would hope it does, though.

That's a great news.... Which version of sense is running on this device????

It's still just Sense 5.

Also I found how to use your own music in highlights. It's there. While watching the highlight press the three dots in the top right. You'll get a drop down menu and can select "choose music".

Those purple tint issues would occur in low light settings with specific light sources (dim room with one lamp on) . Another issue was if you put the phone against something dark (like flat on the table) while the camera was on, a purple/pink screen would show instead of a black screen. I have to say I exchanged my One due to battery and my new One doesn't have the camera issues...not sure if thats manufacture or software. I hope it's software for peoples sake.

What about the battery life?Any improvements?

Gotta be honest, I'm not one to sweat battery life. I can opportunistically charge pretty much all day. I *think* that standby time has gotten better. I've always been able to make it a full work day plus some on a charge (leave home at 8am, get back home at 7pm, with "normal" usage during the day).

Not that it's saying all that much but I've been pleasantly surprised bordering on stunned by how long the battery lasts with the One compared to my old Thunderbolt. That thing could melt down a battery in 3 hours just checking mail, doing a little texting and watching a podcast or two. I've had the One last over 12 hours doing the same thing as long as I have power saver on and still go 8 hours with it off and using the One for a variety of purposes a hell of a lot more than I did the old TBolt.

With the old TBolt I'd run from one charger to the next, plug it in at my desk at work as soon as I sat down, get in the car? ... plug it in ... get home? ... plug it in. I felt like I was tethered to an outlet all the time. And the TBolt had the (cue heavenly angel music) elusive swappable battery of which I carried an extra 2 in my laptop case but rarely changed them out because the damned phone took 5 minutes to boot up. I think the only time I swapped batteries was when I used a Golf GPS program with it and had to swap batteries after 9 holes.

I do keep a fully charged 10,000 mA battery pack in my laptop case now and have had occasion to connect my phone to it. Last week I had to fly from TX to NJ and layover 3 hours in Charlotte. I streamed HBO GO most of the time or watched downloaded Vodcasts on the plane the whole way. Yeah, I needed the extra juice. It was an 11 hour trip with power saver off to get the brightest display, Bluetooth on and volume cranked the whole way. But my Moto Rokr BT headphones needed to be hooked up to the power pack before the phone did. I had to switch to ear buds 8 hours in and recharge the BT phones. The One made it 9 hours before I needed to give it a boost.

Compared to what I lived with for over 2 years before this ... color me impressed and satisfied.
