Android Central Question

Hi. I bought a watch for my dauther. This watch turned out to have a full fledged AOSP 4.4.2 Android ROM.

The problem is it's default launcher is not customizable at all, and it's not good at all, but using other launchers removes the status bar. The total internal memory of the phone is not much, i have about 25 mb left.

Is there a way to bring back the status bar for a different launcher, or are there any lite launchers with the option to bring the status bar back?

Personally, I would consider a different device. I get that money is a factor for some people, but at some point you need to draw the line between budget and usability/security. 4.4.2 is very old, about all that watch is going to be good for is telling time.

Especially the watch has been modified not sure we could offer much help , but I do agree with that old of Android version it be best to find something better .

The main take in this is that i nead a GPS tracker watch, because there has been some rumors that they tried to steal children from the park, I need one that has a good battery life and that i can listen on in case she gets in trouble. I have not seen an Android watch that has all that and can last at least a whole day...

I have an Amazfit Stratos and a Tickwatch E for myself, and the wear os, as polished as it looks, drains battery like crazy, i need to charge it at least 2 times a day. In comparison with Stratos that can last 7 days, and has the same functionality out of the box that the Tickwatch has after installing a few apps, but it's just a bit less polished, it's not even work mentioning the Tickwatch. And they have similar pricing, I think the Tickwatch is more expensive.

In regards, to the Android watch i got for my 3 year old, before getting it, I tried to about 7 or 8 similar devices that did not have Android. They all have the same functionality, same interface, no games, no puzzles, no nothing, because they have the same uncustomizable OS. On this watch i was able to install a music player so my daughter can listen to music, i install some simple games like one with funny mouths that move when she speaks, she can watch videos, and there are so many posibilities. All i need to sort out is the interface. I'm using "LightLaunch Light 3D Launcher" which is only 80kb, but it does not have allot of options.

Do you guys know of similar launcher apps that have a few more options? I would be ok with having gestures or a shortcut that would show me the notifications.

Watches running full versions of Android are simply not common. Not to mention that launchers supporting such an old version of Android are going to be VERY hard to come by.

Curious - @Dumitru Daniel what are you doing with your watch that it's not lasting a day, or even half the day? I have a first-generation Huawei Watch (so it's fairly old) and mine lasts all day without a problem. I use it primarily for notifications.

Same here but i also use it for sleep tracking. Stratos has built in Sleep tracking, Android Wear does not, so i need to use the only sleep tracker i found that everyone is talking about, Sleep as android, which drains battery like crazy, and if i do not charge it before going to sleep it will no survive the night.
But we are still comparing 1 day to 5 days... from what i understand Stratos is also using a slimmed down version of Android, because i can install apk's on it, but it's so well put together it lasts between 5 and 7 days easily.
