Android 8.0 Oreo beta for Galaxy S8 - Unlocked (UK) Sprint & T-Mobile (US) only.

downloading update now.

How long did it take between enrollment and actually seeing the update? I got the notice to enroll and I did but haven't seen any notification about the update as of yet.

Edit: Answered my own question. :) Took about five minutes of repeated "check for updates" for it to show up. Downloading it now.

I missed the post where you replied to Mr. Spencer explaining what you did.

Took my phone about 15min before I was able to update. I didn't get a notification though, I had to go the settings and manually check for an update.

By the way, my update just went through and like another poster mentioned, swiftkey is definitely not running on the beta.

Edit: uninstalled and reinstalled. App working fine now.

Whoever said to Force Quit the Samsung + app, thank you.

After doing so the app showed I could enroll.

Restarted but still waiting for beta to show it's available to download.

Question...if you install the beta, when Oreo comes out of beta for these phones, will it update to the final version or will the beta have to be backed out or anything? I've not done anything beta on Android OS before.

While I can't say definitively for a Samsung device (my first one) when I went from betas to stable releases on my 5X I did not have to wipe the device. It worked just like a normal OTA update.

I've updated - Unlocked S8+ (US, AT&T)

So far - I'm running Nova and it reverted some icons back to the funky Oreo white square background and yes Swiftkey does not work :( - that's a major bummer, hopefully they get updated quickly.

First time Samsung owner, first time beta participant.

I feel like transitions and animations are smoother. So far so good.

TMobile in Alabama by the way.

I’m in the uk but have a US unlocked S8+

No idea how that is going to work!

Saw the same thing on my S8. But Nova seems to be working ok. Nova seems less buggy than Touchwiz does. I can't edit folders and some Samsung apps disappear from the app drawer.

Solid Explorer stopped seeing my sd card and nothing seems to fix it. The Samsung File manager and Poweramp both can access the card without issue. I tried resetting the permissions and uninstalling and reinstalling but no dice.

Samsung Health is giving me heartburn as well. I get a notification that its running in the background but I can't swipe the notification away and the app is already being optimized battery wise. I ended up uninstalling it.

I actually did a factory reset for giggles, app is working fine now after I reinstalled it. Thanks!
I'm a little surprised. Typically I'd be tempted to factory reset, but I see no need. At least in my case. Everything seems quick and very fluid and every app I use daily works great.

My unlocked s8+ on AT&T is just not getting the beta invite. Damnation.

Sorry to say but it's only for T-Mo, Verizon Sprint and unlocked devices. I have no idea why that is though.

DOH! Missed the part about your phone being unlocked! My bad. I guess I shouldn't be posting before I have had my coffee!
