Android 9 - Pie is available

My Pixel XL has been smooth after the initial settling in time, and a few reboots. Battery life may not be as good, but it's been a while since I factory reset my phone. And also, I tend to use it more looking for the new features. I really like what they've done.
One thing that is different since the update, is that my phone will connect to both my Plantronics Bluetooth headset, and my car at the same time. It has always been either or, but today they both connected.
Kinda nice, but I can't figure out how to choose one over the other when the phone rings.
Looking forward to testing BT here too. Too bad we had to wait 2 years for that problem to be solved huh?

Just checked and it's available for me, Verizon Pixel 1. I am traveling, going to wait until I get home later today. I know the risk of a problem is likely small, but still cautious...

Edit: Downloaded and installed last night. I had been having some issues before, and I had stubbornly not done a factory reset after the Oreo install (I know, I know). Today , it was doing crazy stuff (running hot, terrible battery life), so I am now in the midst of a restore after doing the factory reset.

Authy and LastPass are worth it. Restoring access to my Google accounts and everything else with 2FA has been super easy this time, because I have both of those running on my laptop and my backup phone.

No glitches so far and the phone is running MUCH cooler.

I downloaded yesterday on my OG Pixel! So today we will see how the battery holds up. I haven't noticed much difference in usability from oreo to pie.. My phone is still snappy but if I get any lags I will do a factory reset because I haven't done one since having the device. My phone will be 2 years old in Nov and I don't plan on upgrading until next year! 5G baby!!!

I've been running the 9 Beta on my Pixel XL (OG) for months and immediately noticed a HUGE jump in my battery life compared to Oreo.

Those of you with battery problems, take a look at the new battery optimization - my phone was letting tons of apps run in the background that I couldn't nail down. Android 9 (now Pie) would tell me, "hey, this app is using battery in the background" - I'd look at it and say "Hey, McDonald's app, you don't need to be running in the background, go away".

I charge my phone up every afternoon before I leave work and it's good for a day, easy. I don't play a ton of games, but still get at least 3 hours SOT.

I also have not done a factory reset since I bought my phone over a year ago. Came with Nougat, upgraded to Oreo, then 9 Beta and now the final Pie. Still a rock solid device.

I downloaded it yesterday. My Pixel will be two years old in December. It seems like my phone is a little laggier on Pie, and my battery life is just as horrible as on Oreo. I really like this phone, but Oreo destroyed my battery life... The only reason I plan to ditch this phone once it's paid off. I hope the Pixel 3 is better, but I'm worried about the price and whether there will be good deals.

Did you perform a factory reset after trading Oreo?
Pie is an even more robust update.
Any system update should be followed by a factory reset. Yes, it is a bit pain in the A, but the phone will perform better.

Downloaded pie onto my pixel XL day after it came out. Do not use my pixel XL much anymore, but wanted to check out pie. Better battery life was the first thing I noticed after a few days. Used Bluetooth to play some music etc. Seems like a good upgrade so far.
