Android 9 SD storage query

Writing to inquire. Just installed the Sandisk ULTRA PLUS micro SD card and would ask...
How can one direct files to be saved to this card?

Additionally, how can one divide this card into folders/ sections?

Guidance sought...

Welcome to Android Central! I assume you formatted the card as Portable Storage, and not as Internal Storage, correct? (I'm not sure if that phone supports formatting the card as Internal Storage in the first place.)

On my Moto Power droid 10, the browsers (mine are Chrome & AdBlocker) are the only apps that give a choice between internal & external storage.
Open browser. Click not "Downloads," but "Settings," with an icon like a wheel or spoke.
THEN click "Downloads."
(The 1st "Downloads" is where you get to see what you downloaded.)
Choose between "Internal" & "External," & answer any other questions.
For the rest, choose a File Manager. Noodle around & figure out what to do.
I really like "Antivirus+ " free. Open the hamburger menu, 3 little lines on top of one another, on top left of screen. Open "File Manager." It contains clicks to various internal files, apps, pictures, movies etc, & to the sound card.
Figure out which files you want to move, or copy, & to where.
Select 1 or more files. At top, see the option to select all files in the folder.
I opened "Pictures," chose "Screenshots."
(Click the 3 dots at top right to create your own folder, say "6.12.2021 shots.")
Destination choices are at bottom. Copy to Cloud or Sound Card; press Submit to Share; etc. Press "More" to only move files.
Other file managers may be somewhat similar, with some differences.
Note that not all internal operating files can be moved. Maybe a rooted phone would be different.
