Question Android Auto and text messages

Hi all,
so suddenly my Android Auto stopped displaying the box that pops up when you get a new text message. It will still show that I have a new message in the bottom right corner of the screen, the little number in the white circle, but the box that used to pop up and shrink the music player box is no longer popping up. Many times I dont even realize I have a new text message. Anybody else having this issue? I have a Samsung Galaxy S23+ and my vehicle is a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Limited

Did you accidentally 'mute' notifications for texts? AA makes it incredibly easy to accidentally press that button and 'silence' those pop ups...

as far as I can tell my texting app Next SMS/Handcent is not muted. I am getting notifications on my phone, Im just not getting the little window in my car on Android Auto...any ideas. Super annoying

Did you try restarting your phone?

It's probably Android Driving Mode.

Search settings for "driving mode" and either make sure it doesn't set "Do Not Disturb" or you probably just want to turn off the driving mode option so that it doesn't start automatically.

With Android Auto, I don't think Driving Mode really does much that you'd want.
