Android Auto App Issue..

Every time I initiate a call on my phone, when using the Android Auto app (not Android Auto in car dashboard) with bluetooth turned on, my phone's speaker comes on and I have to manually transfer the call to the car's speakers. I suspect it has to do with the fact that the Android Auto app automatically turns on 'car mode'. When I use the 'Car Home Ultra' app, there is a manual setting to turn of 'car mode' and my calls automatically come over the car's speakers without having to manually transfer the call.

Does anyone know a way around this? If not, is there any way to access the G5's 'car mode' settings?
