Android Auto App Notification Sound Issues

Hey all!

I have a S25 that was recently set up as a "new phone". I'm on Android 15.

I'm not receiving any notification sounds from my Messages app or Snapchat while connected to Android Auto in my car. It may be other apps too, but those are the only ones I could confirm weren't working so far. WhatsApp notification sounds work when receiving a message. I also noticed if I press the microphone button for Google Assistant search bar on my home screen, the audible prompt doesn't play either.

I have checked the Android Auto settings and ensured that "Notification Chime" was enabled for new messages.

The phone's Do Not Disturb mode was not enabled while I was in the car.

The volume on the radio and phone was turned up.

I can't find think of a setting which would be preventing me from hearing certain notification sounds in my car. It makes no sense why certain apps would play notifications and others wouldn't.

My feeling is that something relating to the phone is causing this. When the phone is not connected to Android Auto, of course everything operates normally.

I'm completely stumped as to what could be causing this. I've tried almost everything I could think of. I was going to erase the cache for Android Auto to see if that does anything.

You can clear cache then force stop AA if these settings are enabled

My settings are identical to yours. I'll give this a try when I pick up my car from the shop. I know I cleared the AA Cache a few days ago, but maybe it needs it again. I'll give an update when I can.

It's worth a try also , sometimes updates to apps things get broken

I'm going to have to give an update when I get my radio working. It sudden died and has no power after I received it back from the auto shop. I'll post my findings with my Android problem as soon as I can!
