Android Auto Coolwalk not working despite upgrade.

As indicated by earlier posts, having the coolwalk split screen on the head unit seems to be something that is controlled server side at google, some sort of dual compatibility built into the AA app version in question, switched on or not for coolwalk commanded by something from google beyond just if the particular app version is or is not loaded. No idea why they did that? Perhaps they wanted to stage and phase the update in a very controlled manner until they were very sure it was stable and also very sure that everyone wasn't going to revolt. I'd have figured they would have used the beta programme fro that. Who knows? Maybe someone else in here?

They do this with a number of their apps. I'm sure it's for a phased rollout, either to catch bugs not seen by beta testers or manage capacity of new services. In this case, I suspect to catch issues in smaller groups rather than everyone. I'd bet AA reports back info on all the various types of displays the phones are connected to, to help isolate issues that way as well. I think I just said everything you said but being a developer that also does support, just saying it makes sense to me.

I can't find any setting to restore the temp. I expect it to come back, hopefully it does.

I was reading some articles over the weekend that state the current temp was not included with the new Coolwalk layout, at least not yet.

For me, the outside temp displayed on the head unit screen via AA was kind of redundant, since my vehicle already separately displayed it from its own sensors.

Same here for me, Jeep U connect has its own temp display on the screen outside of the AA area.

Unfortunately the only way I can see it now is on the climate control display I see when I adjust the temp or fan speed. I sure hope they bring it back. It was always shown in the corner of the tiny factory info display.

My vehicle displays the outside temp on the main screen. When AA is connected, my main screen becomes the AA screen, and temp is no longer visible. Maybe, once the full version is released that will change.

My Waze app was just updated to 4.92.0.3. Not sure what actual changes there will be. I haven't had a chance to try it out.

The article title is miss leading, in my opinion. The article is basically only talking about setting the driver as for left or right.

That setting has been there from day one for me with cool walk, and I am not part of any special beta or tester group. I guess however they are now maybe going to start calling it "Navigation Closer/Further From Driver" or something like that, with the Head Unit also now getting the vehicle's default driver position setting as defined from what maybe the vehicle tells it (but didn't it always also do that)?

My mistake. The existing driver left/right setting I was referring to is in the "additional settings" via phone Android Auto App, not yet via the on screen head unit Android Auto settings.

Sometimes the position of the map will change as you use different apps, and it can be a little tricky to move it back to the normal position. It's nice tho. Looks great on the 10.5" touchscreen in our new RAV4.

Is Google ever going to get the vehicle's outside temperature back? Some vehicles have the outside temp displayed in the dashboard as well as the screen display. Not the case in mine. I know that I can say "hey google, what's the weather" butI shouldn't have to. It used to be displayed in AA before.

It's not looking like it.

I just read an article this week about the latest beta that said it looks like they are trying to figure out how/where to bring it back. I'll see if I can find it. I hope it is correct. Even though the outside temp is a button push away for me, it's annoying that it's gone.

According to this article the outside temp might be coming back for everyone (might be).

Ok so this is interesting. AA has never worked on my BB KEYOne since I first got it (well, this one.. I didn't have an AA-compatible radio when it came out). Just for fun I plugged it into my RAV4 this week, and to my surprise it worked perfectly (albeit a bit slow). On the Pioneer radio in my truck, it would open briefly the first time, then AA on the phone would crash continuously if I have AA to automatically open. I need to go out and test it in my truck before declaring that the coolwalk build fixed AA on the KEYOne.
