Question android auto help

so i recently bought an audi a8, the mmi screen had been removed and replaced with a 12 inch android system fully intergrated with everything in the car and worked great, it used a app called zlink to connect my phone to android auto, now i accidently uninstalled app, ive tried reinstalling it but every version ive downloaded wants an activation code which i dont have or cant find. so is there any other way of getting to use android auto

Have you checked in your apps lists or hidden list to see if you actually didn't delete it?

How are you downloading the Z link app with a USB stick?

ive tried a usb stick and downloading directly to the android unit, ive tried 3 different versions, 2 needed a code to work and the 3rd just sits on the zlink loading screen allthough my phone says and acts like it connected

I know Z link is specific to Android car radios so probably a factory reset or contact the Android head unit manufacturer

i dont fancy a factory reset as i know it will all be in chinese, is there no other app that will do the same

Sorry they are specific to its Android unit, try reaching out to the manufacturer

Even if you're worried about the language you have Google translate on your phone as it comes preinstalled on 98% of devices. You can use the camera function to translate. Language is usually the first questions/setting right out of the gate. If for some reason it were to not have a setup wizard you could still use the translate camera to go through the settings until you found language.
