Android Auto still not working after today's update

@Misterb have you tried other, modern, Android devices with this head unit? How do they work? If other Android devices running the same version of Android as your S22 work as expected, I would point the finger at Samsung or Kenwood, not at Google or Android Auto as a whole.

For what it's worth - I'm fairly certain my Pixel 2XL still works with AA on my Subaru, and that's an older version of Android.

Guess it depends on your definition of "modern". It works great with my Note 20 Ultra 5G. They skipped the next Note and then went on to release the S22 Ultra as its replacement. If AA requires phones and head units be newer than 2 years old, the damn platform is doomed

Definitely but we don't know the time frame:(
Keep a lookout 8n play store for updates

At least I can stop trying to figure out a solution, while simultaneously trying to get someone at Google and Samsung to take this seriously.

It's not a matter of both needing to be less than 2 years old, just more of a matter of troubleshooting with similar aged phones from other Android manufacturers to determine if it's Google/AA or Samsung that's causing the problem. By making sure a test device is of similar age, you reduce the variables in the testing, to ensure you're getting accurate results.

As we see in subsequent posts, it appears that there is a known issue with THAT model phone, not the AA platform in general...

The issue has been limited to the S22'S and Pioneer Head units. There have been a few reports with some Kenwood head units also not connecting with the S22's. The Pioneer Head units work with all other phones for AA and Carplay except the S22's.

Looks like only the 7 newest units have received a recent update. Mine hasn't had one since 2020
Hopefully an update will come for most of them soon.

Below are links to some discussions about AA not working for the S22'S on Pioneer head units. They don't offer solutions yet but the info will give you an idea of what, how & when Samsung, Google & Pioneer are doing about it.

Is that the 7.5 update or the 7.6. I believe the 7.6 AA update is supposed to be a fix for connection problems with the Pioneer head units.

Apparently the OnePlus 10 pro also has a problem connecting to Pioneer head units. I wonder if all new 2022 phones will end up having a problem with Pioneer head units?
