Android Box turns "ON' by itself.

I have a 4.2.2 Dual Core Android TV Box,XBMC Midnight MX,1G RAM, 8G ROM,Dual ARM Cortex A9 and when I switch it "Off" and the light turns red after some time it turns "ON' by itself. It does it all the time. Is this normal?

I just got one of this devices and it makes the same thing; I have no problem with that but the concern is if this could cause some overheating in the unit.

I don't have an android TV box (but I am jealous), but I do have Android based phone and tablet, and I have seen these devices turn on when I plug them in to charge - this specific behaivour that I have observed makes me wonder if there is some sort of short in the plug/charger and the power, and when you guys described your devices turning themselves on, makes me kind of wonder if the fact that the power plug is always connected that maybe it is triggering a hardware malfunction/short somewhere, somehow similar to what mine does ... just a guess.

Btw, I do have a "smart box" plugged in to my old fashioned tv that turns it in to a smart tv, along with the LAN connection, I get Youtube, Netflix and a bunch of other apps, and I thoroughly enjoy it (just as an fyi, NeoTV), but the one thing that it doesn't have, I can't just install from an app store (I would have to wait for a firmware upgrade, if ever) is Amazon's streaming tv/video service. Oh well, hopefully I either get an actual smart tv with my next purchase, or I will look for a better device, but other than not having Amazon streaming service/app I am happy with NeoTV (which I ironically ordered from amazon.com

I use to have the old vizio first one, never have that issue, but was obsolete and stop using so recently I decide to buy one cheap on eBay, encounter many issues, many crash, I have the same thing about turn on, so I decide to disconnect from power when was not use, but one time when turn on force me to reset due whatever crash issues. So I did and start back again, I notice the crash on media center back again and others, I disable email and google app. But the one disable that solve the issue and the rest of crash was disable media center, in my case eHomeMediaCenter, after clean data and disable that app on settings never turn on by himself, stay off and crashing on system stop too.
