Android cache and unrecognized apps

[AC Question]

I searched through forums but so many, can't find what I need. Can I safely clear all caches on my phone, even for processes I'm not familiar with like core apps, client manager?

Part 2: And what are all these apps that show up in my task manager but not my screen? Is there a list or key somewhere that can tell me what all these apps do? Like Polaris Office....I don't have an icon for that but sounds like something I want to use.

Android usually always caches things in RAM so you'll usually see things running in there even if the app isn't open.

As for the cache are you talking when going to storage within the settings menu? Then tapping cache to clear it? If so that would be fine.
