Above Madison Ave. Taken with a Nexus 6P.

Sometimes we all spend so much time looking down at our phones that we miss more important things up above. The goal of every one of our photo contests is to get you to look up, but in our latest one we want you to look as high as you can with the prompt "height." Height can be relative, or it can be absolute — we want to see what you can envision for this contest and capture with your Android.

We'll be picking three winners again in this contest, with each taking home an Aukey 10000 mAh Quick Charge portable battery!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (December 29) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
  • Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per contest per person.

Good luck, everyone!

Columbia Center in downtown Seattle. Taken with LG G4 and edited in VSCO. Had lunch with a client and on the way out, looked up, liked how gray the sky was (what a surprise in Seattle) against the tower and thought it would make a nice grayscale pic.

My place of work, 30 Rock, looking beautiful (and a little ominous) in a snowstorm last year...love how it sort of disappears into the sky.

Taken on my Moto X 2014 and edited with Snapseed

Tomb of Khai Dihn, Hue, Viet Nam
The tomb of the Emperor at the "Height" of French Colonialism in Viet Nam. The smallest, yet most expensive tomb built.

1/3 of the way up 127 step to the main tomb.
I love the contrast, this little pagoda just "pops" out of the picture.

Nexus 6.
Edited with Snapseed.

Shot from the streets of New York City on a fall day. It gives me that "looking down" feeling while looking up.

Both from downtown Chicago (naturally). One from my Droid Turbo, and one from my Nexus 6.

Broadway Tower, the Highest point in the Cotswolds, an AONB (Area of Natural Beauty) in the UK.
This was one of the first photo's that I took using the LG G4, and I made a 40 min journey to this location in the hope of seeing a sunset, and I wasn't disappointed.
Captured on LG G4, edited in Snapspeed.

That's a rocket taking off from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral! That got some height. Take off at 6 am, and the plume was high lighted by the sunrise.

Why cant i ever get my pictures to stick here?

Taken with Nexus 5x
Chicago skyline from Millennium Park showing off Christmas lights.
Just a random pick I took a couple of days back during one on my evening walks. :)

My already petite wife and some awesomely huge trees near Multnomah Falls, Oregon. Taken on my S6. Snapseed for edits.

This is one of the first photos I took with my Nexus 6P.
I took it one Saturday morning when the sky looked quite nice. I simply walked outside, pointed the camera up and took a photo only to later see how nice it looked.

Seriously.... what is the point of a contest if you can't post photos. Apparently I need 10 posts.

Photo of the record-breaking Whistler Peak 2 Peak gondola at a height of ~1,400 feet above the valley below. Taken earlier this year with a Nexus 5. No post-processing (except perhaps any Google Photos auto-enhancing).
