A tree that was used as a scratching post by a bear.

This was taken on a hike in Yellowstone National Park with my G4.

A trail at a local state park. It looks so mysterious and inviting. I promised myself I would check it out on my next visit. Took this with my S5 (it's final voyage.)

Storm rolling in
Taken with my moto x original (the one with the"crappy" camera) in Orlando, Florida.

I took this photo back in mid-May, within the first week or two of getting my Galaxy S6. This photo was actually just a test of my new camera at the time, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.

Although I attempted to take some new photos (for the sake of this contest) on a hike last night, I had troubles getting something that struck me more than this keeper.

Arboles Parque.jpg

I took this picture a few weeks ago, I was taking a walk in the park of my city and when I was backing home I found this scene perfect for a picture :)
The pic: White balance - cloudy and a little tweak on PS (shadows and noise)
Device: Nexus 5

This post was lacking the names of the device and software, which is fixed in my following post.

As I couldn't find a way to delete this post, I am writing this explanation instead.

I was coming back home from work, when I got off the metro and saw the 'golden-hour' sun lighting this tree beautifully. My initial thought was to run home, grab my DSLR and come back to shoot it, but I knew that it was going to be too late then, as this light would be gone by the time I am back. With the "best camera is the one you have with you" mantra, I reached out for my Android smartphone, an HTC Droid DNA, trying to save this moment. It immediately became clear that the not-so-wide angle camera on my phone was not enough to capture the entire tree. So, I took several tiled shots to be stitched later, adding up to a wide-angle picture. As a photography enthusiast, I also did post-processing after stitching, to cleanup the urban mess we humans create (e.g., power lines), and effectively digitally purified this tree to reveal it alone to let the viewers focus on its blooming beauty. Looking at this final product, am I glad that I did not make the wrong choice of going for the big camera at home!

Post-processing software: Microsoft ICE, Photomatix Pro, Photoshop CS5

PS: Second post, as I forgot to mention the name of the smartphone and the software used.

a Small Park in Downtown Whitby_mh1442030572293.jpg

Last autumn while my wife and I drove around downtown Whitby searching for fall color, we were surprised by this quiet small park. It seems nobody ever touched all the fallen leafs. Pic was taken with my HTC One M7, panorama mode, edited with MeituPic.
