After running my laptop internet connection through my current Verizon phone (HTC Touch Diamond) via bluetooth dial-up out of desperation (no other internet options in my apartment), I'm STOKED for the 5 device hot-spot functionality of this phone. I can run both laptops, PS3, PSP, and my old phone for web/email off my Droid X's SHARED INTERNET!!! AWESOME!! HDMI-Out, HD video, 8mp camera, and SPEED! Nuff said.

Because BlackBerry is hopelessly outdated, and slow to catch up; Because the iPhone 4 is still locked to a carrier with a terrible service record, with an antenna glitch to boot; Because it's the Droid Freakin' X. That's why.
Why this is the hottest phone? That's pretty easy. The phone is a game changer.
Sure, it doesn't have a front-facing camera. But honestly, who needs it? The phone is designed for media consumption. It's a game changer because it is the perfect combination of speed, screen size, and raw power. I haven't used one yet, but I can imagine it blows everything that is out there, out of the water.
For a large phone, it is has a solid, slim, form-factor. If the build quality is typical moto, then it is a solid phone.
One last thing, that camera. 8MP, 720p video, out of the box, and the noise cancelling mic? How can it NOT be a game changer?

Why is the Droid X the hottest phone of the year? Sexy big screen, HDMI, and the most inportant its Android!!!!!
The Droid X hits all the features I've been waiting for. The thin body with soft touch plastic and Motorola build quality should feel great in the hand without needing a case. I was skeptical about the camera chin, but it seems like a smart design feature - even if the extra depth wasn't needed. The screen has a true 16:9 aspect ratio and a large enough width for touchscreen typing. (I gave up on hardware keyboards after putting up with a shoddy HTC WinMo slider.) I'm ready to jump ship from the iPhone to Android, and this is the phone to do it.
I would absolutely love the Droid X, having the biggest and baddest phone on the market would make any sane computer geek very cheerful. Anyone who doesn't want it, or dream about getting it is just silly. It's a great phone and I'm sure will be huge on release day.

Why I want to win a DROID X
Well, why should I win the DROID X you ask? I have been an avid and extreme Crackberry addict for the past 3 or 4 years. I've had the Curve 8330, the Storm 9530 and the Storm 9550 (Storm2). I read Crackberry.com hourly, if not more often, and other BB blogs.
I've loved all of my Blackberries, even the original Storm, but at this time, I think Android gives the best of both the Blackberry world and iPhone world in one solid, beautiful, really fast device. It is totally customizable to my nerdy likings like a Blackberry, it has great email support, and unlike my non BES Berry, I can even synch my Exchange calendar over the air, as well as my Gmail and Facebook calendars. It also offers excellent, better than iPhone web browsing, solid multi-media capabilities with 720p video recording and viewing, and a huge app store.
RIM is WAY behind with the web browsing, multi-media, and hardware, in terms of processor speed, screen size and resolution, and video. I have seen the official and unofficial sneek peeks of BB OS6 and it looks like a slightly upgraded version of OS 5.0 with a WebKit browser that's not even that fast. So I'm very disappointed in RIM, heartbroken really, to say the least. The only thing that I'll REALLY miss is Blackberry Messenger, the best IM client of all time!
Therefore, I have no choice but to show up at 8am Thursday, when the Verizon Wireless store near me opens early, to purchase my DROID X and make the leap to Android from my beloved Blackberry.
That is, unless I win one here, maybe I'll give the one I buy to my wife, and convert her from her BB Tour 9630.

I would love this phone for the fact that it is the latest and greatest android phone! 4.3" screen and 1GHz processor?...that should be the best thing about it. I am stuck right now with the Droid Eris (sigh)

Because it is the first smart phone that my husband has ANY interest in having. He has a simple flip phone from the dark ages. He can build a computer from scraps, but doesn't have a decent phone. He indulged me with an Incredible and in his research fell for the X. I would love to get this for him. He deserves it. He is a great guy. Thanks.
Best Portable Distraction Device Ever Made
With 3 kids, going anywhere requires planning and lots of distractions. With this phone and huge screen its one less thing to worry about. It would be a movie theater in my pocket......and its durable. Not to mention the kids would like using it too.
Its also wonderful not to have to remember to carry a separate camera (video or still).

The screen and speed sets it apart from all andespecially against the fourth edition of the limited fruit salad. As Matches_Malone the Droid X is great for my undercover work in fighting crime.
It is the hottest Android device to date and with a name like Droid X, its bound to score me chicks!
