I have been using Motorola phones for quite a while now. I was a Nextel user for many years and really liked the quality of Motorola phones. I was raised on a farm and we needed phones that could take a beating and still keep going. Motorola was lost in the shuffle for a few years and recently came back to being a front runner again with the original Droid. I am now on Verizon and own a Droid. I have been completely blown away by the quality of the build that went into the Droid and it appears as though the Droid X will be no different. This is the phone to have right now. The 1 GHz OMAP processor destroys the Snapdragon at every turn. The PowerVR GPU is absolutely amazing at rendering games. The 4.3" inch screen will be perfect for me, larger hands, and make typing so much easier with the added real estate. It is going to be the perfect time passer while I have downtime at work, I will be able to watch movies on a beautiful screen. The Droid X also has better battery life than the original Droid and will receive Froyo 2.2 along with Flash in the near future. The benchmarks that have been floating around on this phone are absolutely astonishing, especially since it is currently on Eclair. The 8 MP camera with HD video recording will be great for me to record some family videos without having to bring another camera. I personally like the fact that everything is touchscreen and there is no sliding keyboard. I have rarely ever used the keyboard on my Droid. All the little add-ins from Motorola, the widgets, 7 screens, the touch and hold to zoom in on text and edit with ease is a wonderful feature and very well though out, is exactly what I have been looking for all along. How could this not be the phone of the year? I will get a Droid X one way or the other. This is Motorola continuing to strive for excellence once again in the mobile industry and they keep outdoing themselves! This is the phone of the year!!
