Well for one I can hold it up to my ear anyway i would like, AND WITHOUT A CASE ON IT LOL. Another reason would be look at the beast. It's made with such perfection. I would love to use all of that big screen and that 1.0 ghz OMAP proc. Not to forget the HDMI port and all the multimedia capabilities this beast has. The last reason it's the hottest phone of the year is because I would be able to rub this in all my friends faces that own IPhone4s by making calls on it and showing them all the sweet live wallpapers ahh man I am getting all gitty just thinking about the sad looks on their faces as I totally destroy their IPhone4s with this beast. I swear, me and this phone are meant to be together. I lost my job and was planing on getting it but now I can not come up with the $ this is my only hope

The phone is basically a Droid with some simple but very desired improvements such as a bigger screen, a faster processor, a better camera, and more ways to use it.
The Droid has name recognition so people will immediately hop on the newest and best Droid model.

Ever since the Droid X was introduced, I believed this was the ultimate "next big thing," as monumental as the discovery of the Monolith in Tycho Crater in 1968. And since my wife received (from me) an HTC Incredible, she has been as assertive as Queen Isabella and I have been like King Ferdinand with a combination of syp****s, arthritis and bad hair. I need to reassert myself! And the only way to do that is with a bigger, badder device than the effete Incredible. Please help!!!

Because its as big and as bad as anything else out there, and its made by an American company. Yes, I know all electronics are manufactured in the orient, but its still nice to see one of our firms reach such great success with the Android platform.

Droid X > the singularity
An ideal phone would include Google's Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity (Cadie) feature. It would answer my emails for me, keep my schedule, and perhaps do a few of my lab write-ups. The phone would have the power of a supercomputer and an interface as intuitive as an abacus.
The Droid X may not have Cadie, but the ability to push contacts, email, and even phone calls to the cloud will allow me to stay on top of everything happening in my life. Using Dropbox and documents-to-go, I will even be able to work on my homework on the go.
The Droid X may not be a supercomputer, but with a 1 ghz OMAP processor, it is top of the line. It probably has enough processing power to embarrass a few supercomputers of 1980's vintage.
Lastly, the Droid X may not be as easy to use as an abacus, but who would want an abacus when they could have a full featured spread sheet? Android's unique palmtop experience combined with a 4.3 inch screen, physical shortcut keys, and modified motoblur software will make the Droid X the most appealing and intuitive smartphone available.

I think it's the hottest phone of the year just because it's an Android phone with amazing specs. It has the greatest processor (IMO it is MUCH better than a snapdragon processor), HD video, all those camera features, huge screen with 854x480 resolution, and of course, ANDROID. In my opinion this phone will be a huge success and the hottest phone of the year!
Currently this phone is at the very least head to head with the Evo 4G and the iPhone 4. There are certain positives and negatives to this phone when comparing it to its competitors: Moto-something and re-sizable widgets, though not as pretty as HTC Sense or the iOS4, is effective and new.

The Droid X is going to rock because android is an open exciting platform and Motorolla has already made its virginal mistakes and are now ready to take the Droid X to Sextown!
Well, I am (hope to not be soon) an iPhone 3GS'er and after being thoroughly disappointed with the iPhone 4, I started looking into alternatives and was impressed by Android and the Droid X knocked my socks off. 8MP camera like WHOA.
This will definitely be the hottest phone of the year because of the amazing hardware specs and Android OS combination. I am obsessed with this phone. Every since I heard about it, I searched google and youtube for news and videos. I go on youtube every single day, maybe 20 times per day, to search for new videos of the X. I just can't get over this phone.
I just think it's packed with amazing hardware, like the OMAP processor, which is (IMO) MUCH better than a Snapdragon processor. That, combined with 512mb of ram, makes this phone extremely fast and smooth. Oh, and the 854x480 4.3" screen is drool-worthy.

I remember when this handset was first rumored..it was Motorola Shadow or something but I was like wow 4.3 inch Android by Moto.? Shooooot..!! Just what i needed.!

its the hottest phone of the summa' cuz im trip-tre years of age dog!! and that makes me gen-x. makn' me da perfect suka' for a droid-x. All best bow to da' fo' point three inch madness goin off in my poket.... yua yua boy! i needz it to bust mad apps like Google listen and Super Gnses. so Andy Cent. hook it boy! chrono triggerin it up while i be hearin' that sweet Andy Cent podcast in my ear buds just makes me needs that sweet D-X nector. So hook me up dog!

With 4.3 screen, 1Ghz processor, video, blockbuster, 8mp camera, Verizons fabulous network, this phone beats the iphone and evo combined!! U could run the country from the X, and see everything humanly and androidly possible!!

1Ghz processor, 8GB internal memory, a very large screen. Lets not forget that 2.2 is on its way along with Flash 10.1 support. Plus the phone looks huge, I think I can club baby seals with the Droid X.
