Why do I love thee? Let me name the ways:
1. It's a DROID
2. The display, 4.3 inches of pure love. Now you can actually have a movie watching experience. You just need to hook it up to a portable boom box and then wow you have your own movie theatre.
3. On the theatre note. Can you say microHDMI?!? Now just bring your movies with you at 720p.
4. I can hold the phone any way I like. I mean seriously why would you tell people only hold the phone like this.
5. You can say to your friends all the time. Dude I found the treasure its right here at the X
6. The power button is away from the headphone jack.
7. Longer battery life. Who isn't sold on the promise of longer battery life, but with all the extra stuff this phone can do maybe it will suck the battery even quicker
8. Faster, better, stronger. It is like the millionare dollar man. Faster processer, more onboard memory. BAM!
9. Being able to see the screen outdoors is nice. Totally a pain in the summer when you have to run to some shade or shelter just to figure out where things are on your phone.
10. Better pictures with this camera. Too bad there were not two cameras so you could take 3D pictures.
11. The onscreen keyboards are nice and even better is that they can be swapped out. Maybe this opens the door for people to make even better keyboards.
12. Did I mention it is a DROID?

Really though I could go on for a while about this phone. I think I have become more in love with google because it is not the snooty im better than you Apple users, or the everyone hates Microsoft people. Someday Google will join those ranks of company's but for now I am in the Google everything camp.
They need some Racer X themes etc. I do think this is one of those phones that will just start flying off the shelves.

Droid X is a man's phone, man. When I landed on Verizon Wireless, I traded my BlackBerry 9700 for the Motorola DROID because it felt manly. I got the HTC Incredible but it didn't feel incredible to me, especially when I heard about the DROID X coming. The Incredible felt like a guy's phone, not a man phone. DROID X should be named Man Phone of the Year.
Pulling out the DROID X from my pockets in front of my iToy friends would be like showing up with an M1 Abram tank and parking it on top of their BMW's and Mercedes Benz's.

I have been lurking here for a while, checking out the Droid X. I confess that I am a strict blackberry user, but I have been contemplating making the switch to the X. Why you may ask? Well here is what I have found so far...
First and foremost is the fact that the X can do just about anything! This phone blows my blackberry tour out of the water! A 4.3 touch screen, 1Ghz processor, 8 gigabytes of on board storage, 8MP camera, WiFi, and HDMI port on a phone? Not to mention the ability to record video in 720p? All I can say is WOW! That is a far cry from my tour's 1.5" screen, 256 megabytes of on board memory, 3.2 MP camera, and less than desireable video quality. I also have no WiFi.
Second is the software. I have done some research and what I have found is that android, in general, seems far more stable than blackberry. As it stands right now, I have to do a battery pull at least once a week for my tour to run somewhat smoothly. Even after that, I frequently have freezes and/or hangs. Each time I do a battery pull, I have to wait approximately 5-10 minutes for my phone to reboot. This is very annoying and not very productive. I spend somedays rebooting my phone more than using it.
Lastly, and probably most important to me, are apps. Although blackberry has been improving in this area, from what I have seen, the Droid X far surpasses my tour in available apps. The other thing that I like about the X is the widgets and multiple screens. The only thing I can say here is they are completely non existant in the blackberry market.
I think that most can see that I'm ready to make the switch. So what am I waiting for? Well, my wife and I recently found out that she is pregnant!
This means that all available money is being saved for my new son or daughter. My contract is also not up with verizon and I can't afford the price tag on the X. So this is my last shot.
If I win this contest, Android Central will turn me into a droid customer for life. If not, I'll be struggling along with my blackberry tour for an undetermined amount of time. Either way, thanks for the great coverage on the android market and making me envious of all you droid owners!

Its the hottest phone because for an old person like me, a 4.3" touchscreen will make it easy for me to read whats on my phone.
I need the Droid X because I thought the trailer was for an actual movie.

HDMI output, the sexy 4.3 in screen,1GHz processor, and ready for Gingerbread and whatever else Google throws at it. Plus, its not iFail 4. And finally it'd be a great successor to my Eris, which sadly kissed pavement and has a nasty crack running down the screen Help me out guys!!

This IS the hottest phone of the year for a few reasons, you can hold it however you want, it is NOT on AT&T and even though the bootloader remains locked it is still more open than that other phone that just came out.

In my opinion, The DroidX is a culmination of where we have come in mobile technology and technology in general. Also, those high-tech
devices that are seen in movies seem a lot closer and possible. The DroidX makes it seem like anything is possible if we are open to new
platforms and ideas. With the growth of the Android tech, I really think the next 10 years will be very interesting to see how it develops.
Finally, the mobile smart phone world is catching on and now with the DroidX, there is a mass acceptance of the android technology which will hopefully continue to bring much more progress and development.
My first smartphone was a MPX200 and at the time, I thought it was the best phone ever. Now with the DroidX, the thing is amazing and I would love to get my hands on one! Plus, I have wanted to switch to Verizon from AT&T and this device would make it worthwhile. To whoever wins, remember what you are holding in your hand. It's not just a new phone; it's all the progress and development of the last 100 years in your hands!

Huge screen, fast, Google Maps navigation. If it could burn DVD's, I wouldn't need my laptop any more.
