Own both the One and the S4. Really like the S4, but love the One. Happy to see the phone continue to get praise!

Glad to see HTC stepping up their game and bringing out an awesome phone, competition is great.... Which we think the best phone is doesn't matter consumers will buy what they know already, just look at the iPhone.

Of course no one said it like that. You're misunderstanding or possibly over estimating what my point is. My point is, that people had other (more important) reasons for not liking the iPhone. Then when Apple or their fans would brag about the build quality, Android fans would say something along these lines: "I would prefer a plastic device that has better software and internal capabilities over a crap OS that's wrapped in aluminum and glass."

Clearly no one would say build quality and sales were the reasons to NOT get the device, they would say that those things didn't offset the lack of user experience in the device or whatever other aspect they were uninterested in. Anyone who's frequented Android Central for over 12 months would certainly know what i'm talking about because around the time the iPhone 5 (and especially the 4s) was announced, those comments were rampant.

I'm not saying I disagreed with those comments, because I was involved in many of them. I am just saying it's funny how now, those things are massively important because now Android is experiencing both of those aspects. Now, it's more about the build quality of HTC vs. the popularity of the S4. Samsung fans accuse HTC fans of being like 'iSheep' because they obsess over build quality. HTC fans accuse Samsung fans of being like 'iSheep' because they obsess over the popularity of their device and the focus on marketing. If what I am saying is false or wrong, no one would be using 'iSheep' as the burn of choice to try to win their respective arguments. Clearly many people remember that being a common discussion regarding Apple or they wouldn't use Apple fan nicknames to tear other people down.

I'll add my perspective to this. I would never own an apple product, but my sister in law liked how easy it was to use and bought a 4s. She asked me to help set it up for her. Only thing I was impressed with was how classy the phone was, it felt good in the hand and looked like a high end phone!

It is a high end phone, whether people here want to believe it or not.:)

I have both the iPhone 5 and the One, and both have their advantages over the other.

I have since went back to the note 2 over the HTC one. The htc one was a great phone. The zoe feature is fun to mess with. While the materials they use are high quality and feel nice in the hand they need better quality control. I had the gaps in the seams on the top and bottom of the first one that I bought. Also on the left side where the white part met the aluminum was real rough when you ran your finger across it. They didn't line up the white plastic and the aluminum and the white part was really rough where it stuck out. So I returned that phone only to find that the next one wasn't better. The sides felt Ok but now the top and bottom of the screen didn't like up with the speaker grill sections. On the top the screen stuck out more causing me to have to run my thumb across the edge of the screen every time I wanted to check the notification bar. The bottom of the screen was the opposite the speaker grill was sticking out more than the screen?! WTH htc? While the aluminum felt good in the hand it also got so hot it was uncomfortable to use. And this was while browsing the Internet or watching videos on lte. I understand it getting hot in that situation but not that hot. The speaker crackled and popped sometimes while watching YouTube videos or any kind of audio with a lot of speaking on it. And the battery life just wasn't good enough. So I exchanged again, knowing that these are common issues and more than likely the next handset wouldn't be better but I though I'd give them another try. And guess what? Still not any better. I took the phone back and went back to the note 2. I haven't had a single issue with this note 2. The battery lasts forever. Despite having touchwiz it runs very smoothly. It doesn't get hot at all. It does excellent on ram. It just works. The reliability, large screen, battery life and s pen have me back at the note 2 and I will stay here until I feel there's a better replacement out there and I've had all of the current top phones for tmobile and from my experience this is the best option out there right now.
