Android Central Question

Recently I got a Pixel 2, my first android device. My bedroom is in the basement and when I'm anywhere else in the house (closer to my router), my wifi on my phone is fine. However, when I'm in my bedroom, the signal strength goes down to "fair" and it keeps saying I'm connected to the router but there's no internet. Meanwhile, my laptop, iPad, etc. are all fine and maintain a consistent internet connection. It still stays on the 5GHz frequency and never changes from that.
I walk to the top of my basement steps and the signal strength is excellent and has internet connection. I move down to my room and the signal strength goes to "good" then "fair", still 5GHz but just says "connected, no internet". Every other device doesn't have this problem so I'm wondering if there's something I can do within the android settings to fix this (I may have done something I shouldn't since I'm new to android)

Welcome to Android Central! Just to clarify -- your other devices are also connecting to the 5 GHz band, or the 2.4 GHz? 5 GHz gives faster throughput, but has worse range and can be blocked more easily by walls/floors.

I don't think there's a setting that would affect wi-fi reception, so I don't think you did anything to cause this. Does the phone have a case on?
