I've been a Windows and currently a Blackberry...but I am ready to switch myself!
But...... I need a Phone that can:
- Corporate, Microsoft Exchange
- At&T

It looked like the Backflip would finally allow me to join the party...
but according to Motorola it doesn’t do Corporate the Email....

Dell?
HTC?

Anyone have an ETA?

(Hey...but also wouldnt mind winning :) )

The Nexus One does do exchange and the current model will run on AT&T Edge network. Hopefully the Nexus one with AT&T bands will be out in a couple of months.

Maybe, but unlikely. The only announcement was for Verizon and they're CDMA.

Still, the most promising announcement by Google was that they were planning to eventually make a phone that would work on both GSM and CDMA!

I really hope such a phone comes out, it'd change the whole marketplace. I never heard any such announcement, though, where did they put this out?

I thought some of the newer phones had a dual radio (gsm/cdma) even though they only implement one or the other with each phone? (ex. Palm Pre, others?) This reduces costs if the same component can be used, but seems like a "world phone" would be possible.

I'm not sure that the Pre has a dual radio in it but you could do that with any phone... It just makes it a battery hog and a little bigger. They're getting better at GSM/CDMA combo chips...

Answers from a Fellow Winodws Mobile User.

Hey, everybody. Phil here. And it's time to look at Android from a Windows Mobile perspective. Now, I know a bunch of you came over from WinMo, so I expect some good replies here.

  1. 1. If you did leave Windows Mobile for Android, how come? What attracted you to Android?
  2. Are the multiple versions of Android causing you any headaches? Or are you just waiting patiently for an upgrade?
  3. Which do you prefer? Stock Android, or something like HTC's sense on top of it?
  4. Do you worry about having all of your information in the Google ecosytem?
  5. If you could fix one thing about Android, what would it be?

That's it, folks. Get on it!

1. I left for android because of the amount of apps and web browser. Ever since sampling a g1 i was impressed by how easily pages rendered, how little effort was required to get the clicks/links to work.

2. Multiple versions of android are not causing me any headaches. I think it is neat to see the evolution of android in devices.

3. I prefer something like HTC's Sense UI. I think it "pretties" up android and makes it more functional.

4> I believe Google does well enough to keep privacy at a maximum.

5. If i could fix one thing about android it would be the ease of updates. I wish companies would standardize themselves instead of "rolling along" having to test every little thing to release an update.

Anyone have any idea if the Nexus One will be coming to Canada?

Yep, eventually. Wind Mobile's trying to get it. Doesn't help a very big market there, but I'm sure Telus or Bell will get the CDMA version eventually too.
