Ipods were designed to carry that much content, smartphones were not.
But...aren't smartphones replacing the iPod?
The tasks we ask of our phones are increasing, and streaming the cloud isn't always an option. Offline definitely should be an option, so the question is, how much storage is enough. I don't want SD cards, the GNex showed me the value of built in memory. I have 32, and sometimes I struggle.
