In the past few years we have seen Google creep more rapidly into our technology driven world, the basement like company similar to that Bill Gates said is his biggest threat in the 90s has crawled everywhere! The company developing the same year the speech was said. Its came to the stage were Microsoft board members have thrown a chair across the room yelling " Google" (source was t3 2009) and where next? The Android PC isn't a new concept, we have seen Asian Companies mimic the Macbook air running Android, we have seen the Asus Eee Pad. What would it be like to have one of these laptops? This jogged my mind this morning when my computer (touch wood) has a miniature death. No lights, No nothing! It got me searching I love the thing, but I was thinking about android. Would I move to the Android tablet/pc now for University work? Probably not.
Here will be a list of Pro's Vs Con's of running android on a PC. Note Comments will be added to the list as I am deciding myself
PRO's
- Google Compatible.
- Complex but Simple
- Less Virus then other PC's
- able to write notes on particularly for students
CON's
- Android isn't yet fully notebook ready (CNET)
- Lack of full business tools e.g High Quality Photoshop
- other pc item incompatibilities e.g Might struggle with printers if required.
- Often cheaper
