Well, somebody has to be the first to ask:

Will our Big Boy tablet get Android M?

Will we skip right past android L (5.x) and go straight to M?

Come on, Samsung - what's the go for the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2??

:confused:

Not counting on it. Heck, I'd be happy just to get the "new" features that the Note 4 had when it was released 8 months ago. Samsung has really sucked at updating devices this year. Not sure I blame them, lollipop is quite a bit different but they've been making changes to it along the way too which makes updating the MANY variants of devices much harder.

Since most variants of the Note Pro 12.2 don't even have Lollipop, I'm not worrying about M. I'd just like what I have on my S4 on my tablet.

Not sure Samsung wants to be a player in Tablets anymore. Glad to have the 12.2. Android updates are nice but a new version takes years to filter down. A new 12.2 would have to have 4k to get my interest; or no flickering screen :}

Agreed. Update history for this line of tablets is utterly pathetic. It really should not have taken this long to get the newer multiwindow popup features that the Note 4 brought to the table in KitKat form 8 months ago. There should have been an incremental upgrade by now for that alone is nothing else. I'm glad to see features coming in lollipop but still we wait... Meanwhile Samsung phones 3 generations back are getting lollipop.... Sad. I'm so happy I rooted in day 1...

Google needs to take the manufacturers and the carriers out of the loop when it comes to updates. I can see letting them customize the original versions to work with their devices / networks but after that, they should not have a choice in the matter when it comes to updates.

It would be just like Samsung saying "nope, no windows update on such and such computer that we sold."

Wireless devices should be held to the same standard.

That already happened when Google started updating core services like the play store separately from the operating system. There's no way they'll be able to update the OS after the manufacturer and carrier hack the heck out of it to customize it. That is why we are all waiting to begin with. I know it sucks but on the flip side were it not for the different variants we would not have the note line of products so we have to take the bad with the good.
