I agree. Now it just has the person's name in a color in group messages but I can't find a way to change that.

Losing the individual contact color choice is a major step backwards. You just have to wonder what the powers that be are thinking sometimes.

Really diggin the dark mode in both YouTube and messages. I don't use custom colors so that doesn't bother me. Now Google just needs to make the rest of the device dark when selecting the dark theme. Ie. Phone, Contacts, Calendar, Settings, etc. Let's get some consistency Google!

Nice change to the messaging app plus I like that I can text from my computer.

I do like the new Messages app! Am enjoying it so far. I do agree that it's kind of a bummer that the individual contact colour option is currently gone from settings.

I agree. To me, the new design sucks. I ended up uninstalling the update to get back to the previous version. No reason that Google couldn't redesign but provide option to color code contacts. FAIL!
