Android Messages - Search Doesn't Work

So I tried recently searching through my messages for a certain word and it shows that the word came up X number of times in that specific conversation but when I try to go to the previous/next time that word came up with the arrows, it does nothing. The number changes, for example 3/ to 4/7 but it doesn't actually take me to where that word was within the text chain.

Anyone else have this problem? Been having a lot of Android Message issues on my Pixel XL that I never had on other phones.

Works for me. Maybe clear the cache on the app?

Clearing the cache did not work for me
