Android N on the M10?

Htc said on Twitter. They'll release it for htc 10 , One A9, and M9.

But isn't Android N supposed to have like an extra partition on the device thus making it impossible to install on current devices? (at least in a normal fashion?)

That is interesting. I don't have twitter or fakebook, I stay off of social media so I am somewhat behind the info curve.

There will definitely be a way to get N, it might be slightly different than devices release with N though

My big question is power and power usage compared to Kit Kat/Marshmallow. Will it be better? I certainly hope they keep working hard on making it that way. Also security,

How long does HTC tend to support their devices? We know we won't have to wait too long to get N, but will we still have support when O comes out a year later?

If the M9 is getting N then I'm sure there 10 will get O.

I wish HTC supported more than two revisions of OS. The most stable versions of OSs are usually the second/third/forth etc revisions. HTC update to the first ones and then your left with bugs until they update to next major version for the whole thing to start again. I know they said they update after 90 days but maybe they should also update again after 3-6 months to revised update to ensure less bugs... For this reason I won't be updating... I'm still waiting for 6.1 update to Marshmallow 6.0 but I don't think that will happen.

The split screen feature on the N beta is great. I like it on my s7 and is the only reason I'm not trading my s7 for the 10. Hopefully HTC will be quick to get N.

Please give me a real world scenario in which you use splitscreen on a phone, that actually makes sense. I have been carrying around this annoyance of an S7e for the better part of two weeks now(work phone on Verizon, personal is the 10 on T-Mobile) and I fail to see any use for that feature, at all, on a phone. On my Nexus 9 sure. I wouldn't mind watching some YouTube videos while I read an article. But on a phone. To me seems completely unreal. I just don't understand how this is a "stand out" feature on a phone. It's a useless gimmick to me.

I, at first, thought it sounded great because I'm frequently changing screens. Sounded great until I realised it would be like using two 2.6"screen phones at once. The recent apps button works just fine for me. I could only see myself getting frustrated with split screen.

It's useful for me when paying bills. That's about the only time I use it.
