Android O apps adding to home screen?

Hi guys. So I updated to Android O and I noticed now apps automatically get added to my home screen. I went to the Google play store settings and the option to add icon to home screen is no longer their either. How do I stop this from happening now?

Hold down on your home screen > settings > turn off add icon to home screen.
