Android Oreo rollout resumes for Galaxy S8/S8+

Re: Samsung cancels Oreo update for Galaxy S8, new version in the works (Update)

They need to change that version name ASAP.

It will change. The last letters are letter codes for month and build year, at least.

Actually, that is a good idea.
Instead of G950/G955-FXXU1CRAP, the new name should be G950/G955-FXXU1ASAP. ;)

Mav.

Seeing as it was pulled I guess it lived up to its name!

Stickied this.

Still nothing. Sprint. US. I bought the S8+ knowing that updates would be few and far between, if at all. I don't really care anymore although in this respect, I sort of miss my old Nexus.

International Dual SIM version got to 8.0 in February and just received another update to fix some unit with battery issues (I think).

My wife got a 137 ish MB update today. Her S8+/T-Mobile is still on 7.0 Nougat

My S8+/T-Mobile is on the latest Oreo Beta and I got nothing

I don't expect another Oreo security update for the next week's, but I do know some webshops get their phones from different countries to offer them at reduced prices.
I live in the Netherlands and once had a phone purchased here that came from Austria. It got lollipop and marshmallow way before official release in my country.

I got the same 130+mb update last night. Either it's a precursor to the Oreo update or it's something to keep Samsung owners quiet and content while waiting (and waiting and waiting) for Oreo. Like I said in another thread, I knew when I bought a Samsung, I would get few to no updates.
