Android Oreo rollout resumes for Galaxy S8/S8+

Today samsung rolled out oreo for unlocked Note 8s. So unlocked S8/S8+ devices are literally the last left. Ridiculous.

Got the update for my S8 (Australia) and when I'm on a call the phone just drops out. It's not a tower problem, but a problem with the phone. First drop out is usually somewhere between 8-10 minutes into a phone call and subsequent dropouts between 4 and 6 minutes. It's not just my S8, either. My husband is having the same problem. Where we live, we need to have a reliable service and this has become an absolute joke since the Oreo update.
Seeing as I can't (easily) roll back to Nougat, does anyone have any suggestions on how to alleviate the problem, or do I just chuck this phone under the next semi that comes down the hill. :(

my update is finally available, unlocked S8 USA (Verizon). Need to wait until i'm on wifi to download it though

Rather random but in case it is of use to anyone: pretty sure my S8 is locked to EE.

It has been prompting about this Oreo update (1.2GB IIRC) for about two weeks now.

Unlocked S8 - Oreo + March security update arrived this morning. Can't say I really care at this point. Never dropping another $800 on a Samsung phone to get software 8 months after release, and security updates once or twice a year. Not good enough for a flagship imho.

Just got it this morning. I did a hard reset even though I didn't really need to. Just wanted to start fresh. Yeah Samsung did a face plant on this update. No way should the unlocked devices have been last in line.

I received my Oreo update on March 23 - S8 w/ Verizon. I myself believe battery life has suffered a bit, not overly drastic, but enough for me to notice.

The bug which I see noted in other areas online of all my notifications coming in when DND turns off has to be fixed. I do not need 10-20 notifications at 7am. Thankfully M-F I am up, but what if I want to sleep in on Sat or Sun? It is not like I can set a different schedule for weekends (perhaps a feature request is brewing).

A couple of my apps where I was able to customize the vibration is no longer available and developer says that is straight from Android and Oreo.

Multiple notifications for one email (ugh).

Finally, has Android Messages figured out who to use a customer text tone for an email address? I have to use 3rd party apps to get this feature, while I did not think there stock app was all that bad, however, not being able to put a custom alert on an email address when I get plent of alerts from email addresses was a no sale.

Love my Samsung - these are just some early take homes.

Got the Oreo update yesterday. The keyboard and voice to text is MUCH improved and works great. Better than Gboard.

I have, and I’m not impressed. I liked Nougar more. My battery life has suffered dearly.

I installed it on my S8+ a few months ago, when the Samsung APK was released by leakers. Been running it ever since and so far so good I think.

My build number is
R16NW.G955USQU2CRA1, what's yours?? Also, noticed that my Android Security Patch is stuck at Jan 1, 2018.

April 2. Still no oreo update on unlocked S8. Am now running a security patch that is *over* 4 months old. Samsung, you've lost me, WTF are you guys thinking?

Just wondering if you're running Oreo yet, I installed the leaked version a few months ago and so far so good, Build Number: R16NW.G955USQU2CRA1 and Security Patch is January 1, 2018.

Forgot to mention the reason I posted this.....when I first got my S8, the voice to text was terrible. I never had a problem with it on my S6. It was so bad that I installed Gboard and really liked it. The voice to text worked awesome.

So now, after the Oreo update......the Samsung keyboard is awesome (seems a little bigger, easier to type) and the voice to text works as good if not better than Gboard.
