I have a stock gnex and although I don't get the greatest battery life I am not sure why it dropped 40% in a few hours. When I checked the battery life app it read android os as 38% of battery kill 5 points higher then screen and the screen is almost always the culprit.

The only other thing I can think of is that when I had it connected to my PC it wasn't charging and I didn't look at it when I got up to leave. It still doesn't explain the android os part and its still a large drain in that time frame.

Try Gsam Battery Monitor(use to be Bad Ass Battery Monitor) and check the "Times wake" option and see what app is waking your phone up even with the screen off.

no new apps, but I did remove some widgets. I don't have any task killers. I thought they were counter productive for the newer versions of android. I had one for 1.5.
