Android OS killing my battery

So last night I had my phone at 100%. I woke up around 7 hours later and my battery depleted to 76%.it's the first ime I left my phone like that overnight without charging because I heard you shouldn't charge overnight. Anyway, is this a common problem? The battery indicator said android os used about 31%.

I always have charge over night. Here is the thing and what is great about this phone.

If charging over night shortens your battery lifespan. You can spend 10 dollars and 5 minutes of your time replacing it.
