Android P Public Beta -- Live!

So far so good. Although not totally sold on the gesture based navigation. This is due to the fact the it tries to do two things with the same gesture so if you swipe for the full app drawer you see the recent apps very briefly. Sure I'll get used to it.

Has anyone else noticed how bright the screen can get now. Almost blinding!

Looking good so far, have to agree gesture navigation is little finicky. Some times opens up app drawer sometimes the card view. Got to pull it up from the bottom horizontal bar to get the card view. I'll see if it's more of getting used to, I'm used to it in iPhone X and got to see how well I adjust here. Overall I do prefer gesture navigation if it's implemented correctly.

I jumped off the last Beta because Android Auto was spotty. Hopefully this one isn't flakey

That is how i feel. I hopped off as well due to Android Auto issues since I use it daily.

It seems a quick swipe up does the recent apps. A longer hold / swipe does the app drawer.

Outlook app works for anyone on Android P? Doesn't even launch, just keeps crashing. Few other Microsoft apps like one drive does the same. No issues with non Microsoft apps

Hm not sure. I don't use any MS apps on my phone. Hopefully someone can chime in with that :P.

No issues for me on outlook.

Have you checked if there's an update? Obviously clear cache and possibly data are going to be the other two troubleshoot options.

Can anyone confirm whether the black crush on the *regular Pixel 2* is fixed in P? I posted in another thread and Mike Dee replied that the gradient issue on black home / lock screen was fixed. Figured this is a better place to post my question. If the black crush and blotchy video has been fixed, I am picking up another Pixel 2.

Never heard of that issue on the P2. Heard of it in the S9... Is that a color profile or calibration issue?

Nova Launcher is broken. Swipe up will not show apps. I know it just got released as a beta. But FYI anyways...

I have the OG Pixel XL. I did have the adb hack that set Wi-Fi preferred calling on Verizon. I did a factory reset after installing the P beta. Now I can't get the setting put back to Wi-Fi prefered.

No it did not matter what color profile was set. Using Screen Balance app helped a little but blacks turned gray and there was still some blotchy video.
