I just bought a Oneplus 6 and I'm waiting for it to get delivered. Since the phone has nothing on it I'm thinking about putting Android P onto it because it doesn't matter that it would get wiped. I just have 2 questions. Is battery life and stability okay on Android P for OnePlus 6. Also if I download Android P, when OnePlus roles out the official Stable update for Android P could I just update it from the DP or would I have to wipe the phone again. I know to go from Android P back to Oreo you have to wipe it. Im pretty sure if I update the phone to Android P once the regular version comes out I can just update the phone without wiping it but I just want to make sure. Thank you!

When the pixel 2XL updated to Oreo 8.1 from the beta last December, it just updated to the stable version without a wipe. I presume it may do the same on the One Plus 6. Since this is the first time it has been on beta no one will know for definite.

No one can answer the question of whether you'll need to wipe for sure, but the chances are incredibly high that you will.

Also, if you're planning to use it as your actual main "daily driver" phone, don't install the P developer preview on it. Just... Don't.

Back up to Google and OnePlus it saves all your settings even wallpaper doing a complete restore is super easy if need be.
Even download it all my apps for me
I went back from Android P because Samsung pay doesn't work with the beta

Ok thank you! Is the Android P DP really bad and glitchy because I really want to use the new features and gestures

No wasn't glitchy , I miss some of the gestures and movements.
Try going to the play store and downloading OnePlus Updater it will give you choices for the latest stable or beta releases you won't even find on OnePlus site yet

Looking for some user feedback (likes/dislikes)before downloading the latest Beta version of Android P or waiting for the official release

Worked ok for me but my Gear S3 and Capital one app didn't work also white screen on Crome browser so I reverted back , need to give developers time to catch up before I reinstall

Wait.. Samsung Pay works in the OnePlus 6? I would have thought that not possible.

How'd you get that to work, my frontier fails when I try to install SP.
I didn't install SP only the gear app and SP works inside of that , you won't be able to use your phone for SP only the watch , you can go into rewards and redeem gift cards ect

Huh, I’ll have to try again, been a couple months since I’ve tried.
