Google said it is simply a re-brand name wise. The cards you have in Android Pay and the functionality should stay.

I don't believe so. Any phone should upgrade to it if it has Android Pay since Android Pay isn't a Pixel/Nexus exclusive.

Just got it OTA, and updated.

My app drawer now shows both Android Pay and Google Pay. It'll be interesting to see if the former disappears.

I'm not sure why you got that message. Mine was available for use instantly.

The intrusive part is when I walk into a store and Google tells me it can be used I don't need notifications like that
