I don't trust Verizon reps.I have been given inaccurate information many times,even information that directly contradicts their written customer agreement (terms of service).
Let's say that it is proprietary Samsung technology. Samsung may be wanting the leg up on the competition to keep their product unique.just like their s pen.most likely others would have been willing to pay Samsung a license fee for the tech but it doesn't look like anyone has,at least based on what I see in the market today.
