Have a zte merit via straight talk, already rooted in using stock rom and love how it works now.

Also have a htc incredible 2 adr6350 that may be bricked, was hoping could find some type of help here. So far all the helps are for ones that can turn on, which this one will not do

I have not gone through this service, but have seen in other forums people who have: JTAG Unbrick Service « Bricked my Phone
I cannot vouch for anything in the above link; I just kept it for future reference.

Welcome! One of the very first things I do with new devices is root. I may not install a custom ROM right away. But knowing that I can re-install apps/data from my previous device makes my life easy.
