Android Pie - HTC U11 photos not writing to sd card

Hi

My phone updated to android pie last week, and since then my photos are not being stored on my sd card, and are going to the phones internal memory instead

When I go to the camera settings in the apps menu, there is an 'storage used' option with a button marked 'change', but this is grayed out

My photos were being written directly to the sd card before the update to pie

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Open the camera app, go to its Settings. Select Storage Location and make your selection . Good luck

Is the SD card otherwise being recognized, like when you use a file manager app? If not, then remove the card, insert it into your PC, and backup any important data. Then reinsert the card in the phone and reformat it. Now see if it works.
