Android Police's 2018 Smartphone of the Year is the OnePlus 6T

Picked up a Pixel 2 XL 128gb Panda like new condition from a friend for $300. Could not say no to that.

Like you, have 2 small kids and picture quality is top priority. I think 6T is superior to 2 XL in many ways except for the camera. That camera is great on 2 XL.

I will be using it for the next few months and will wait for 3 XL prices to fall more before I pull the trigger on one.

So are you choosing the Pixel 2 XL as your daily driver over the OP6T till then or still figuring it out? The OP6T camera is definitely not bad. But it's hard to not pick up the better camera when you really wanna make sure you get the best shot.

I just sold my Pixel 2. The only thing I really did like about that phone was the size and the camera. For me the day to day user experience is better on the 6T, OP does a far better job with the OS and options than google in my opinion. So far, the camera has been fine for me, video has been better actually as the Pixel wasn't the best at video, especially the audio.

For me the camera is good enough I think. Will be taking far more pictures of kids and family the next couple of weeks so I guess that will tell me for sure.

I can not agree more. I am very surprised how much better the OOS. I mean take the way a folder opens up on OOS and compare that to stock Android. GOD, night and day difference.

1+ implemetaion of Oxygen OS makes the phone so much joy to use. Google need to pay attention here. Not kidding.
