I believe this has been a long overdue video, and Gary Sims from Android Authority has put together some very insightful videos that:

1. Explain how Android RAM Management works
2. How much RAM you really need in 2019 in your smartphone.

He also goes into detail on how different phones have their RAM structured.

For what it's worth, that article replaced one from years ago, which explained why RAM cleaners shouldn't be used. Instead of creating a new URL, they overwrote the original article. You can tell because the current one is titled:

"RAM: What it is and when do you need more?"

But in the URL, you see the old article's title:

"RAM: What it is, how its used, and why you shouldnt care"
