Well, dunno if you'll find it to be relevant device, but here goes: At home, I'm using, and loving a
WD TV Live Hub Media Center 1TB. It's not Android, but it is a Linux or BSD type of system. It supports NTFS, so there no file size limitation for HD content. I even tested it out on by ripping my favorite Blu-Ray to it, and it worked flawlessly, including menu navigation and all. The software running on it is a little slow, but this device has its high point where it counts:
playback is always flawless and it supports just about every CODEC out there, even reads ISO and IMG files as-is, and offers
1080P. Mine has an extra 1.5TB portable drive permanently hooked up to it over USB, and playback is still flawless. The software allows to create and manage partitions, and supports a bevy of streaming services like
Hulu, NetFlix, Spotify and the likes. It also supports networks shares on SMB (Windows) networks, and has support for passworded access control both in and out. Firmware is easy to find and download, and older firmware is still posted, so you can backtrack if something goes wrong.
These are getting rare, they have been discontinued, people did not like them because they are a little slow, and they came out at the height of the
Thailand flooding and Hard drive crisis, so their prices just flew out of control, and WD stopped making them. That said, what they don't have in speed, they offer in playback enjoyment. Most "faster" streamers are 720P only, don't support for NTFS disks off their USB ports, so unless you accessing networked-stored content, large HD files are a no-go. Because it also sports RCA out, one can even bring it over as a music playback device or to view video on a secondary TV, like the kids basement CRT, or at friends/family still using old CRT TVs and analog stereos. Few streamers offer this capability.

So, to recap, a little slow, but Highest marks for usability and versatility.
Have a good one.
