Sure wish the media would stop referring to android versions by Google's cutesy names that don't appear anywhere on the phones. It would be much more clear to use version numbers that could be matched to the phone's software listing. Or maybe I'm just being cranky today. :)

Yeah, maybe. Then we have to answer a question about Cupcake and we have to go look up the version number.

Well, Apple has their weird Cougar Lion Snow Kitty Yosemite Jellostone naming convention for MacOS, so it's not like others don't do the same thing.:p

Personally I find it both odd and fun that Google adds food names to their OS versions. Makes it more interesting. To me (if you look at the differences between app icons you’ll understand what I’m saying) Google’s Android has been more bright, colourful and fun compared to the utilitarian and rigid iOS.

Any guesses for the next few Android names?

All of the speculation has been that Google's going to abandon sweet treat names and just go with numbers (which I really hope isn't the case). If I ran the Android division, I would've gone for Quik or Quisp.

I agree...hoping Google keeps Android’s food/desert names as well. How about Android Quench? Kinda food/drink-related?

...I mean Google refers to those names so.. 🤷*♂️

What happened to "Queens Cake" ? (Sorry I can't keep a straight face lmao)

From what I've read and heard, they still refer to it as Queens Cake internally (although I've also heard that "Quince Tart" was another internal code name), kind of like how KitKat was actually referred to as Key Lime Pie internally.

Nice trivia B, thanks for sharing ;-) It's quite interesting the internal names companies have for things :-P

On a side note, why am I getting hungry? Lol.

Hey, that's an idea -- start naming versions after sci-fi characters. Quark was a short-lived TV show in the '70s starring Richard Benjamin.:p
