If you try to use the Verizon VVM app and you have signed up for VVM already, you'll be told to use the built in HTC app. You can't use the one in the market.

Has anyone discovered if you need to pay the monthly fee for the Android Voicemeil app yet?

Yeah. The phone prompted me the first time I turned it on, and made me agree to the $2.99 a month service charge. So it just depends on which VVM client you want to use. I'm sticking with the stock Android version.
