Android "voice command" equivalent?

I'm looking at a switch from a Windows Mobile device to the Droid, and looking without success for an OS-level equivalent to the Windows "voice command" functionality.

I see that voice input is supported for searches and for the phone application, wanted to see if there is any movement towards a lower level of voice support.
