So I have been a faithful gROM user for some time now, but I am really looking forward to seeing how this ROM turns out. I have read through this entire thread (been checking in every day), though I admit I haven't read through the YOUR-MOM-ROM thread, so I apologize if this has been asked and answered elsewhere:
While there are obviously a lot of changes, does the fact this ROM is still based on ZVH mean one could upgrade from gROM to this without wiping data? As long as one wipes cache before flashing HydroROM, could they simply upgrade from gROM without having to clear data and restore a backup using something like Titanium Backup? Are you going to do any testing of this scenario?
Obviously, I'll be making a complete backup before I would attempt such a thing, but I'm wondering if it is even worth attempting when HydroROM comes out.
You will be required to wipe data before flashing HydroROM. Titanium Backup is also unsupported. That doesn't mean you can't use it, but any issues you have will be ignored until you can replicate the issue without using Titanium Backup.
We already are aware of the issues that can (and will) arise when failing to wipe data, and we are also aware of issues that can arise when using Titanium Backup. Both scenarios are unsupported and we will not be testing those.
