Announcement/Launch dates

This is getting rediculous... Just call me when they announce the thing

I feel you right there. One of the things I like about Apple is that they give you a date of availability. I wish more Android OEMs and Google did that. Nearly every device that comes out always had speculation around the date after it is announced and then we all find out it's coming in 2 days LOL. I mean I guess it's good to be surprised sometimes but also would be nice to know a little ahead of time.

The one thing about Google I have never cared for are Google's non Google IO events. The possiblity of a new OS and product to be launched at Google IO are pretty high. However when Google has these non Google IO events you really don't know if they will unveil any new OS or hardware. Google seems to never make any guarantees they announce a new os or hardware so you can never be certain with Google.

I would not be surprise if they did not launch the Nexus 5 this week. Google could easily have private or random press event for the Nexus 5 the following week or in next couple months.

In end this all what makes Google so interesting to follow because you never quite no what to expect.

I seriously think Google has no clue when they are releasing still and they are toying with us.

Well to add to all the rumors. I bought this case from Amazon and one of the reviewers claimed to have had the phone and said it fits nice. He said that the embargo will be lifted in 6 days and, he could say more about the phone. His wrote this on the 19th. His review is gone now, of course, so I have no way of proving this. If this was true, maybe we hear something Friday.

I don't care for that either. Why would they send out a press event about Google Play after all these leaks about the nexus 5, then say no hardware will be announced. It makes me not even care about the press event.

The Google Play event and Nexus launch event could be two distinct events that can not be put together for sake discrediting the purpose of either event. Scheduling could be another reason for Nexus 5 may not be at Google Play event. Google is about software and have many innovated ideas with software that go beyond the Nexus program. A one time a year limited commercial product sole design is to present software may not need to be milestone every event for company that has so much going on besides another nexus device.

Leaks are just that leaks which don't officially indicate anything.

I would be rather surprised if we don't hear something this week...with Nokia and Apple making their own product announcements. It would be an opportune time to steal some thunder.

I think Google is going to continue to "leak" info until April Fools Day. Then release it then with no one believing them as to avoid launch day supply and traffic issues

Google never denied the possibility of a hardware announcement. That's just what some news outlets are saying based off their sources.
