Annoyed Samsung?

You should consider switching carriers.

nice response! obviously the response of a DB! why would i change carriers? VZW is the best carrier. that doesn't mean I have to like the way they handle releases. R u saying that they do a good job? do a little research and i think it is evident that my post is solid, better yet take a pole here!

Why would Verizon care if they released 3 Verizon exclusive phones all at once when they make their money from the contracts? Just to appease the manufactures of said phones?

I wouldn't think that would be the case because one of the manufactures (Samsung) doesn't seem happy about. Maybe to make Motorola happy? Still doesn't make too much sense...

Although Verizon and Motorola can release a phone right. My father ordered 4 Razr's that are coming out tomorrow. He got all 4 this morning, and I think I read someone in the razr forum got theirs yesterday...

Why can it work that way for something I want. Product announced, couple weeks later, pre orders, week after that and I'm using the damn thing....No one is doing me any favors by releasing this phone....I'm paying a premium price for the device and the contract....

This is how I have felt all this time. I don't think launching this phone has anything to do with over shadowing the RAZR or Rezound. I mean...both those phones will probably get way more attention and marketing than the Galaxy Nexus. UNLESS.....Verizon plans to actually heavily market this phone. I've never seen a Nexus phone really marketed all that well, which is one of the things that people get frustrated with when it comes to the attention that the Nexus phones receive. If Verizon plans to actually market this phone, then they probably indeed do not want the RAZR and Rezound to be overshadowed.

So far, the only marketing we've gotten from Verizon is a little press release...in text format. No crazy graphics or flash. Just plain ol' text.

No bloatware on a phone means less ROI from their phone lineup. The GN will be the blacksheep of their lineup.

I now second the de-caf suggestion!

I guess I'll go to the Razr forum and live vicariously through them, happy that they got their phones..LOL!

It sucks waiting for this phone but, there's nothing we can do about it.

I am liking the looks of the rezound and if it gets decent battery life and verizon keeps pushing off the nexus I may go that route. I mean they already have the bootloader unlocked and some roms for it. Got to love the dev community.

Ok, so maybe verizon doesnt want to release all three at once because they have obligations to help moto sell their phones due to contract or whatever....

Um, I say release all three.... If the Nexus out sells HTC and Moto then so be it. Then Moto and HTC will know they made a less desirable phone... Cant take dodgeball out of schools cuz one kid cant hack it.

I guess if i didnt come to these sites i would have no idea that this phone was coming out, the day verizon released the info would be my first knowledge of the Nexus and my wait would only be a week or two.........

....... wait, is that a quad core phone i just read about over here, now how long do i have to wait for that to release. I'm never happy and my balls are little. But i know a lot about phones that are not available.

I dont go to the Apple sites s maybe someone on here could tell me if there are rumors of an iphone5 coming out, i'd like to know how long i have to wait before i can start complaining about that also.

Thanks,
@Socialmuse

I'm itching for this thing to come out too but I really want some info on whats going on for other carriers. My carrier uses the same bands as t-mobile and I want this thing asap. why cant we go back to the days of the nexus one where you could buy online, unlocked, directly from google. i thought thats what the nexus name was all about? really kinda pisses me off.

They want to maximize the market impact of their holiday portfolio. If they released all 3 at once, there would be a lot of excitement for a few weeks and then nothing new the rest of the holiday season. It would also water down the marketing campaigns for each device. By spacing out releases, they can maintain a high level of interest for most of the holiday season.

They will bludgeon the public with razr adds for the next 2 weeks, then as that dies down they will ramp up marketing for the rezound for two weeks, then they will attack with the samsung advertising (gnex, gtab, stratosphere, that entry level samsung phone)

You're all wrong.
Verizon is taking so long because they have to load all the devices with bloatware before release.
Vanilla Android? Uh huh, not if Big Red has anything to say about it.

Ha I can see them right now.

"So when do we get to load all of our software on the phone?"

"Bob, this is a google phone. We are not allowed"

"Not even one? Just Vcast I promise"

"No Bob, not even one."

It does matter because verizon has to fork over the $$$ for the PR work. If they are going to spend big bucks doing PR for razr and it looks like they are with all the 11/11/11 for the razr commercials, then they don't want to also put out a nexus ad campaign. They will end up competing against themselves. I have a feeling after this weekend we'll get some release dates. Maybe verizon wants to get the sales going for razr first and considering the nexus is really more a big deal for techies who keeps track of these things, its almost auto PR work. This wouldn't have happened if other carriers also had nexus. Then verizon would have no choice but to do the PR work to keep people from leaving verizon.

I personally think verizon should have done a combined PR campaign with all 3 devices but maybe their agreements with the various companies prevents that. Who knows. But I hope google and samsung will keep this in mind with their next phone being made exclusive to one carrier first.

I was annoyed at Verizon earlier, but then I went into a Verizon store and played with the razr. Now I'm fine. Typing this from my Xoom. Yes my Droid Charge could be better and yes Verizon could spill the effing beans already but for some reason when I get my Xoom and realize that it is clean and non bloated and the most current tablet, I do realize that even Verizon can finally do something right. At least for the next 48.

Verizon needs to stop dictating everything samsung doesnt seem happy they should of put it on tmobile first like always through best buy, and maybe even tmobile stores and the verizon whenever they chose to.

I suspect if a lot of people were to ask verizon when the GN was to be released and that we now realize the delay is verizon's action for not communicating that and its verizon's fault for the delay, verizon would either have to reply with some fluff info (which means it is their fault) or they blame someone else or they give up and release the GN. :)

Perhaps right now verizon is happy with knowing that people don't know who is responsible so the spread of annoyance is also at google and samsung. Thats probably why this samsung guy went on tv to discuss the nexus and to gently let everyone know "it ain't our fault its verizon so stop bugging us".

Time to annoy verizon maybe and add some heat under their feet??

Verizon has been resting on it's laurels faaar too long. They have been riding on the back of having the best coverage for the longest time and I personally think that if they don't change their ways it will bite them in the rear big time. Just look at the biggest example, the iphone. Verizon screws themselves out of the phenom that is the iphone, loses customers, and burns a bridge for four years. They had better change their ways or they'll wake up one day to find the others have caught up and no phone manufacturer wanting to do business with them. My opinion only.
