Annoying blinking light

On the face of the phone, to the left of the "Samsung" word at the top I have a continuously blinking blue light. It's no big deal during the day, but at night where I have my phone by my bed, it's like a searchlight. Is there a way to have it stop blinking?

It may be the notifications light indicating you have unread messages. You can turn off the notification light by going to Settings, Display, LED Panel. Of course if you turn it off, you won't see a visual notification that you have unread messages. Or you can check all of your messages and mark them as read, but a new message will trigger the light again.
